The County Court has exclusive jurisdiction of all cases wherein a juvenile (a child under the age of 18 years) is alleged to be a child in need of supervision, an abused child, a neglected child, or a delinquent child (one who commits a crime).
These cases are filed in the Youth Court Division of the County Court.
Court Rules
(Effective August 1st, 2024)
- Absolutely NO cell phones or other electronic devices allowed in the courtroom.
- No vaping allowed in the Justice Center.
- Do NOT approach court personnel in the courtroom unless your name is called.
- No weapons of any kinds allowed.
- No food or beverages allowed in the building.
- Excessive talking and/or bad attitudes will not be tolerated.
- No sleeping.
- You must remain in the building while waiting for your hearing. We WILL NOT come get you out of your car.
Dress Code
(Effective August 1st, 2024)
- No halter tops, tank tops or muscle shirts allowed.
- No revealing clothing allowed.
- No hats or hair nets allowed unless for religious beliefs.
- No shorts or miniskirts allowed.
- No shirts with offensive writing or emblems allowed.
- No pants hanging below the waist line.
- No excessive holes or tears in jeans.
- No pajamas or slippers.
