Area Agency on Aging
The Mississippi Department of Human Services, Division of Aging and Adult Services, coordinates delivery of services available to adults 60 or older. The North Delta Planning and Development District serves DeSoto County seniors. Call 662-561-4100 or visit www.ndpdd.com.

Elder Rights Protection
Addresses elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation. The program includes Outreach, Ombudsman Program, and other assistance.
National Family Caregivers Support
Program provides services such as respite care, supplemental services, support groups, training, and information to family caregivers.
Homemaker Services
Provides housekeeping, laundry, shopping, and other types of assistance to functionally impaired seniors in their homes.
Bridge to Independence
Assists clients with their transition from a nursing home to their own home or new residence. Benefits include housing startup costs, home/utility deposits, home modifications, and moving expenses.
Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP)
Prepares older adults for employment opportunities. Serves people who are at or below the poverty level.
State Health Insurance Program (SHIP)
Helps with questions about Medicare, Medicaid, supplemental insurance, and other coverage. Helps compare policies, organize paperwork, and help with claims and filing appeals.
