Temporary Entrance Change at DeSoto County Administration Building
Starting Monday, December 8, the front entrance of the DeSoto County Administration Building will be temporarily closed while crews construct a new entrance vestibule inside the main lobby.
During construction, all visitors must use the back entrance, including individuals visiting the Tax Collector’s Office to renew car tags or pay taxes.
The new vestibule will function as an “airlock” entry, using a two-door system to help keep heated and cooled air inside the building. By reducing the loss of conditioned air when doors open, the improvement is expected to:
- Reduce strain on the building’s HVAC system
- Improve comfort in the lobby area
- Support long-term energy savings for the county
Construction is expected to take 2-3 weeks.
County offices will remain open and fully operational throughout the construction period.
