ROAD CLOSURE ALERT: Starting Thursday, May 23 - A section of Wilson Mill Road will be closed for 2-3 months while crews realign a dangerous curve.
The road safety project, approved by the Board of Supervisors, consists of the construction of 1,400 feet of new roadway with related storm drainage infrastructure improvements.
The detour is outlined in the map, and includes Highway 301 and Starlanding Road. The contractor is placing detour signs to direct people around the construction.
The Board of Supervisors understands the detour may be an inconvenience, but Supervisors believe it is necessary to make the road safe for drivers and school buses.
